Strawberry Mojito

To make a non-alcoholic version, just omit the rum- still refreshing and delicious!

Ingredients

7-8 stemmed strawberries
1 bunch of mint
2 limes, quartered & juiced
2 cups of  lemon-lime flavor soda
1 cup of  white rum
3-4 tbsps of Sugar
ice

Directions

• Take one of the lime quarters and run along the rim of tumblers/glasses.
• Pour 2 tbsps of sugar onto a flat surface and run rims against it.
• Set glasses aside.
• Juice the quartered limes into a pitcher.
• Throw in the juiced limes, strawberries, and mint (with stems cut off).
• Add 1-2 tbsp of sugar.
• Get a muddler and muddle (hehe) all together til strawberries are in pieces.
• Add soda and Rum and Stir.
• Add Ice to glasses and pour Strawberry Mojito mix.
• Enjoy.

Vegas sept 2013 Day 4: Aria Hotel and Shopping time!!

The Aria is without a doubt any Vegas goer's dream destination.  This high end hotel is about as top of the line as one could hope for. Its modern, sophisticated decor will surely amaze.

Cinnamon-Spiced Iced Tea

• 8 cups filtered water
• 2 (10 cms) cinnamon sticks
• ½ cup sugar
• 3 large or family sized black tea bags
• ¾ cup orange juice
• ¼ cup lemon juice
• 1 orange, sliced into 6 slices (optional)
• Cinnamon sticks for garnish (optional)
• Ice for serving

1. Place the water, cinnamon sticks, and sugar in a large saucepan and place over high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes to allow the cinnamon sticks to release their flavor.
2. Remove the water from heat, add the tea bags, cover, and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and discard.
3. Pour the tea mixture into a 2-quart pitcher and stir in the orange and lemon juice.
4. Chill the tea in the refrigerator until cold, about 2 hours.
5. Pour over ice, garnish with orange slices and cinnamon sticks if desired, then serve.
